These are the first pair of vans that I remember seeing. My brother had a pair of these dirty sk8 Hi’s when he used to skate. When I started skateboarding, he handed it down to me. Even though my feet were 2 sizes smaller, I used it anyway because it was the only skate shoes I owned, and It felt badass at 13 years old. I learned to do an ollie on them, and I was convinced that it was all because of the shoes. Before I grew into them and started taking skateboarding more seriously, we threw the shoes away. It has a special place in my heart because it reminds me of my brother. <3
